John Piet
A native of Detroit, Piet was educated at the Detroit Institute of Arts Center (now known as College for Creative Studies) and Wayne State University where he received his Master of Fine Arts.
Piet was influenced by the industrial Midwest and Detroit music scene of the 1960s.
Much of his work can be found in sculpture parks and at public institutions throughout southeastern Michigan with many of his smaller scale pieces serving as maquettes for larger works. John passed away in 1968.
